GRANT WRITING AND ADMINISTRATION:
Experience in numerous grant programs has led to extensive knowledge of a variety of funding sources available to local government.
• In the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program alone, Simmering-Cory has written and administered more than 400 projects. CDBG funds can help cities finance improvements to and the construction of sanitary sewer collection systems, sewage treatment facilities, water distribution lines, water storage facilities, wells, water treatment plants, and storm sewers.
• In addition, Simmering-Cory has secured CDBG to help finance a variety of community facilities such as child care centers, adult day care, work activity/vocational training facilities, family resource centers and community health centers.
• Simmering-Cory has also been involved in writing and administering a variety of CDBG/HOME housing related grants including Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation, New Construction-Home Ownership, Assisted Living/Rental Rehabilitation, First-Time Homebuyer, and Acquisition/Demolition/Relocation activities.
• Other Miscellaneous grant programs that Simmering-Cory has been involved with include Recreational Infrastructure Grants, I-Jobs, and Downtown Revitalization Grants.
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE:
Economic development assistance includes providing local leaders with a working knowledge and the practical application of development tools such as Tax Increment Financing/Urban Renewal and Tax Abatement/Urban Revitalization, as well as a variety of economic development grant and loan financing programs. Development tools and financial packaging activities focus on residential, as well as commercial and industrial development. Clientele includes cities, counties, private industry, and local and state-wide development organizations.
